Deaf Girl Publishing
Our Mission statement: To eliminate the stigma attached to hearing aid, cochlear implant and sign language users. Through education, exposure and interaction with people who have a hearing loss.
Deaf Girl Publishing is a social entrepreneurship owned by Deaf Girl Amy Sargent.
Social entrepreneurship: is the work of a social entrepreneur. A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change. (Wikipedia)
We are a young company with long term ambitious plans to support, educate and entertain the mass population world wide about hearing loss acceptance and understanding.
Current Projects:
"A Survival Guide for New Deafies"
A book to help people who suffer from a late onset hearing loss navigate the unwanted journey. The other purpose of the book; is to inform and educate people training in careers focusing on Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals.
(The trained professionals I worked with, when I lost my hearing had all the clinical knowledge I needed, but all were lacking in offering advice for coping and adjusting.)
Flaunt Your Bits & Pieces
A social media campaign to raise awareness and acceptance of using hearing aids, cochlear implants and sign language.
